Abstract :
The effect of Cu2+ ions on the formation of nanocrystalline magnetite prepared in an aqueous solution and its magnetic properties was investigated. The Cu2+ addition resulted in copper incorporation into the magnetite phase. An optimized Fe/Cu mole ration was found to be 0.5 for the formation of the magnetite with low Cu concentration and high magnetic properties.
