Abstract :
Recent progress in biorobotics has led to realization of remotely controllable bacterial microbots such as the flagellated magnetotactic bacteria (MTB). In our previous works, we have articulated a conceptual design of the MTB-assisted microwave medical imaging system. In this paper, we further investigate planning of MTB paths in this type of system based on the criteria of diagnostic effectiveness and time. We also propose the cognitive path planning and tracking engines when perception about the distribution of a cancer changes with the previous observations of the internal organ. The proposed analytical framework would pave the way for path optimization of miniature robots in futuristic in-body medical robotic networks.
