Abstract
In this paper, a novel overmodulation technique for space-vector PWM inverters is proposed. The strategy, which is based on Fourier series expansion of the reference voltage and which is easy to understand graphically, can achieve maximum utilization of the DC bus voltage. When the method is applied to the V/f control of an induction motor, smooth operation during transition from the linear control range to the six-step mode is shown through both simulation and experimental results
