Abstract
Supporting various applications and satisfying their service requirements, depend on the bandwidth allocated to them. In the algorithm proposed to support integrated services in CO-DQDB-ATM, we look at the aggregated bandwidth of the Internetworking unit. We map the Integrated Services to DQDB Services, with the help of QoS Management functions. For integrated services, delay is one of the very important QoS measures. The algorithm proposed exercises common admission control, hence resource sharing is crucial. It also has a in-call renegotiation feature. We propose QoS primitives initiated by the user/network to dynamically adapt its data rate. With this setup, the congestion control becomes both preventive and reactive
