Abstract :
This paper analyses the results of measurements of LAN-LAN interconnection via satellite channels. The experiments were done using the TCP/IP and XTPX protocols running on SUN workstations. The satellite was simulated by a hardware- and software-simulator. The influence of important parameters-such as the error-rate of the satellite channel, the buffer size of the hosts and the satellite gateways and error-correction-is discussed
