Abstract :
The predictive controller design method proposed in the paper utilizes the finite impulse or step responses, also called system Markov parameters. Its implementation is discussed in detail through the re-design of the closed-loop observer based on the state-space method for predictive control. Compared to the conventional algorithms, such as DMC or MAC, it does not need to truncate the response series approximately to zero or a constant, which gives the computational advantages. Apart from that, it is liable to theoretic analysis, and the closed-loop stability is presented. Thus the proposed method not only keeps the virtues of the previous predictive controllers using non-parametric models, but it also has the features of wide applications and being suitable to theoretic analysis
