Abstract :
The fear of accidental leakage of harmful nuclear radiations in the surrounding areas of nuclear power plants pose a great threat to the development of nuclear power plants in India. As the natural resources for power generation like coal, lignite and water are slowly getting depleted, the major source for power generation is nuclear energy and it is un-avoidable. Design of an energy efficient and simple nuclear radiation detector is discussed here. It has also been proved as an effective radiation detection system.
