Abstract :
In this contribution guidelines are provided on how to perform numerical calculations of indirect lightning effects in an efficient way. Both time and frequency domain methods are considered and an analytical solution is given which can be used to test corresponding numerical implementations. It is proposed to focus on the determination of lightning transfer functions in frequency domain and to use an adaptive macromodelling scheme which avoids to numerically process the complete lightning current excitation in time domain.
