Abstract :
A novel zeroth-order resonator antenna (ZORA) consisting of novel composite right/left-handed (CRLH) transmission line (TL) structure showing higher compactness is proposed in this paper. The ground of this ZORA is cut partially in order to obtain enhanced bandwidth and efficiency. At the frequency of the zeroth-order mode, the bandwidth can be 200 MHz which is much wider than that of ZORA without enhancement technique. Both of the radiation efficiency and the antenna efficiency are significantly improved compared with those of the initial ZORA. Full-wave method is used in the simulation of the antenna structures. Also, the equivalent-circuit model is employed for analyzing the properties of the antennas.
