  • Abstract
    A study on the radiation characteristics is carried out on the planar like square slot electromagnetic band gap (EBG) structure which is integrated with a microstrip patch antenna. It is observed by simulation and experimental verification that the introduction of a square slot EBG structure improves the gain by 10% and suppresses the back-lobe radiation.
