Abstract :
The extensive dynamic capabilities of the browser allow for platforms of infinite extensibility and omni-functional power to be delivered via the Internet. This paper considers the possibilities of converting Web pages into an intelligent immersive omni-functional platform with special focus on calculations. Such standards-compliant documents with omni-functionalities (enhanced by calculations, but including advanced graphics, picture manipulation, composition, presentation, etc.) can be intermingled with semantic Web structures to create powerful models for the next generation of the Internet. The paper builds on the features that are extended by such representations, and imply potential solutions that can be developed from such strategies. The paper documents the possibility of converting every Webpage into a full-fledged calculation platform (named Websheets) that demonstrate more power than the most advanced spreadsheet tools available today.
