Abstract :
Pressure and Torque control in Brake Inertia Dynamometer (BID) is necessary to ensure the testing brake system reliability. The main objective of using the Dynamometer limits certain aspects such as reduced man power, variable inertia, accurate response, limited to a small test space, parameters can be store and analysed. A dynamometer is a device for measuring force, torque, or power. The power produced by engine, motor can be calculated simultaneously by sensing of torque and rotational speed. The added advantage in using a BID is that, it can be able to simulate all kinds of vehicles such as HCV, LCV, SUV and Sedan which provides the maximum and minimum limits in each parameters by directly ensuring the safety. The control of Pressure and Torque is done `n´ number of times to make sure it is more reliable as well as to meet the required consumer specification. This paper consists of real time data acquisition process which uses a simulation tool named NI LabVIEW.
