Abstract :
Although many schemes have been proposed for representing assembly systems, very few of them appear to be adequate for modelling commercially critical real-time issues such as throughput and performance. In this paper assembly systems are represented using timed Petri nets. We propose a three step approach to analysing the Petri net model for performance. The three steps involved are decomposition, grouping and analysis
