Abstract :
The diversity of session control protocol, media processing mechanism and channel condition makes it difficult to have universal communication in heterogeneous networks. In this paper we propose a service-oriented communication system which can support different types of services, e.g., session control service, media processing service and network adaptation service. The architecture of the proposed communication system is flexible enough to support a diverse set of users in heterogeneous networks. Experimental results show the superiority of the proposed system compared to the existing monolithic communication systems.
