Abstract

Production planning problem in large-scale discrete manufacturing systems is addressed in this paper. Petri nets are used as a tool for system specification aid analysis. A hierarchical and modular approach based on the procedure of module building, module simplification, high level system analysis, and module analysis is adopted. This paper focuses on module simplification. The approach is discussed briefly. Two algorithms are proposed
