Abstract :
The present work reports about the study of a hybrid type of longitudinal and perpendicular exchange bias in [FePt/FeMn]N (N=1∼10) multilayers. Ion beam sputtering technique was used to prepare the samples. X-ray diffraction technique and vibrating sample magnetometer are used to characterize the structural and magnetic properties of the samples, respectively. The dependence of in-plane and out-of-plane exchange bias on temperature and FePt thickness is investigated showing a similar dependence for both the cases except on their dependence on the cooling field.
