Abstract :
This work presents a magnetic force microscopy (MFM) study of the switching behavior of elliptically shaped Ni81Fe19 (permalloy) particles induced by a magnetic field pulse of varying duration. An increase in switching probabilities (P(t)) of four ellipses along the increment of pulse duration (t) is considered as a thermal activation reversal behavior. This indicates that some ellipses showed very similar switching behaviors to each other while some ellipses didn´t follow them. Angular dependence of the switching field (Hs(θ)) shows similar curves for the corresponding four ellipses with slightly different magnitudes. Commercial Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbert (LLG) software calculations showed same angular dependence to the experimental data.
