Local problems for homogenization of periodic thin films

Abstract :
We define a sequence of local problems whose solution on the microscale provide information for the macroscopic behavior of thin films, when the microstructure is small compared to the wavelength. It is shown that the straight-forward results for low-pass films are substantially more intricate when a net static current flows in the structure.
