Abstract :
This paper focuses on the application of decision support systems (DSS) to top management level decision making for business development. It describes the experience of Chinese´s telecommunication service enterprises in the development of decision making and the related emergence of information-based support organization for business operation, the information and decision support center. The paper offers an example of a decision support system. It also discusses the challenges encountered and lessons learned from the DSS example
