Abstract
To deal with problems that queuing information is not included in cognitive information when performing Resource Allocation (RA), a dynamic cross-layer scheme is proposed for the multimedia cognitive radio (CR) system with Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM). In this scheme, we consider that several crucial factors influence the RA decision, including channel state information, interference to PUs and packet queuing state. The objectives are to provide quality of service(QoS) to both real-time and non-real-time services for SUs, and maximize the system throughput. According to scheduling information at MAC layer, we develop a Resource-Block-Based Allocation (RBBA) algorithm. Theoretical analysis and simulation results show that the QoS and user fairness can be guaranteed and high utilization is better achieved when our proposed scheme is applied.
