Abstract :
In the water conservancy and hydropower engineering, it is very important for the lectotype design of hydraulic turbine to exactly acquire the mathematic description of the engineering curve in order to get the vectorization of all operating mode parameter. We presented a data compression algorithm based on the non-uniform cubic B-spline fitting for ordered data points obtained by the vectorization tracking of the curve. One pixel, the minimum unit of the computer screen, was taken as the error evaluation. The fitting error was controlled by self-adaptive addition of new nodes. It has achieved the data compression after the curve vectorization, and offered credible parameter assurance for lectotype design.
