  • Abstract
An approximated impulse response for dipoles is provided through simulation for the ideal current generator and ideal voltage generator. Both responses are analyzed through decomposition into its constituents reflected pulses. The decomposition provides an insight into the dispersion, distortion and the energy transferred by the system composed by the dipole antenna and the ideal source. The role of the generator impedance, along with the energy transference, dispersion and distortion of the system are explored as a function of the observation angle and of the relation between the dipole length and pulse width. Three parameters of dispersion measurement are then compared for dipole antennas.
