Abstract
This paper puts forward the application of Matlab image processing technology in sewage monitoring system. The percentage of the bubbles on the surface of the water can be got by using some functions in the image processing toolbox of MATLAB, such as binaryzation, dilating, erosion and so on. The automatic alarm will be raised when the percentage of the bubbles exceeds the setting value. Sewage emission of factories can be controlled by this device effectively.
