Abstract :
The wireless mobile network is a dynamic environment. The characteristics of the wireless mobile communication include limited channel bandwidth, high BER, dynamic change over time, unstable channel quality, mobile node, competition of multiple users to share the channel, and the users´ wireless signal interference from other nodes of the shared channel. These characteristics of wireless communication make us face a serious challenge to provide QoS guarantee of real-time streaming media application in the wireless network environment. In this paper, the NS emulation method is used to study the performance of MPEG-4 streaming media in the IEEE802.11 g wireless local area network environment.
