Abstract :
This paper shows a robust way to anticipate handover in a network composed by a GPON system operating as a backhaul of a WiFi network. We will show that this anticipation is necessary because, depending on the configuration, GPON needs some time to prepare its configuration to support the WiFi handover. In our method we use a combination of radio link and network qualities to provide users with the handoff required. As a result, we will show that it is possible to automatically anticipate the handover instant with time margin above the needs of GPON.
