Abstract
PervCal4D provides a pervasive on-line calendar system for developing countries. It offsets poor Web access by the rich SMS access inherent to the near-ubiquitous cellular network deployment in the developing world. Its architecture relies on RESTful Web services, and we have built a prototype using a GSM modem with a SIM card to make deployments outside the domain of the cellular network operator feasible.
