Abstract :
Photovoltaic devices are gathering significant attention from fundamental research and product development, in order to generate renewable energy. Amorphous silicon thin films-based solar cells are leading the way; nevertheless, other materials have been tested over the years. The different stable carbon allotropes possess a number of properties with potential application in photovoltaic industry. In this paper, application of different allotropes of carbon in the photovoltaic cell field will be reviewed. Additionally, experimental data and fill factors obtained with diamond photodiodes will be presented.
