Abstract :
Electric power steering system (EPS) has been developing rapidly and becomes one of the safe-critical systems in modern control system of cars. The tracking performance of control system is an important factor that affects the assistance of electric power steering system. In order to improve the overall performance of electric power steering, fuzzy logic control theory was applied to the development of assistance control algorithm in this paper. The model of the whole EPS system based on fuzzy PID controller was built and the hardware system of EPS was designed. Simulation results show that the system based on fuzzy PID control is feasible.
