Abstract :
Summary form only given. KTiOPO/sub 4/ (KTP) nonlinear optical crystals such as those doped by Nb and Ta offer high optical damage threshold and broad temperature bandwidth, properties indispensable for reliable operation of high-power and intracavity optical frequency converters. Noncritical phase matching (NCPM) is highly desirable for intracavity frequency doubling applications as it eliminates the angular walk-off problem.
