Abstract :
This paper considers the uplink receiver algorithm of femtocell, when it suffers from the interference caused by the user in the nearby macrocell. As femtocells share the same frequency band with macrocells, signal of the user in the macrocell might also be received by the femtocell receiver, which becomes interference. This paper proposes a scheme of combining the algorithm of MMSE Successive Interference Cancellation (MMSE-SIC) with SIMO MMSE. It determines critical interferences, below which the femtocell receiver adopts SIMO MMSE, otherwise, it adopts MMSE-SIC, in the environment of three different channel correlation types, namely low, medium and high correlation. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme retains the advantage of SIMO MMSE when the interference is small, and improves the Bit Error Rate (BER) performance in using MMSE-SIC when the interference gets strong enough.
