Abstract :
Vehicular ad hoc network (VANET) can be considered as a basic and an important interconnected system for road transmissions which is considered as one of the most important types of next generation networks. It helps vehicle drivers to access to the information anywhere and at any time. Their essential advantages are the road safety improvement, air pollution reducing and data transmission optimization. Nevertheless, vehicles are made face to several challenges namely the links volatilities due to their frequent mobility as well as limited degrees of freedom in their mobility patterns and frequent disconnections due to the limited bandwidth. Therefore, the routing process and its quality of service can be decreased if there is an insufficiency in terms of the requested bandwidth which is not constant with the high speed of vehicles. In this paper, we propose to study the impact of the bandwidth on the robustness of the found routes discovered by the routing protocol QoSBeeVanet. The routes sustainability is evaluated in terms of the packet delivery ratio, the normalized overhead load, the average end-to-end delay and the average estimated bandwidth. To do that an extensive simulation using NS2 simulator in realistic urban settings has been conducted. The obtained results showed the robustness of QoSBeeVanet after comparison with DSDV and AODV proactive and reactive conventional routing protocols respectively.
