Abstract :
The high bit rate troposcatter communication system has become the newest focus of research when the bandwidth becomes more and more precious. This paper introduces the trait of troposcatter communication, its application and development, especially in the military field. According to the study of scatter channel, the scatter channel model is build in this paper. As the multipath fading of the scatter signal become worse when the bit rate increases, OFDM technology which can increase the spectrum usage ratio and resist to frequency selecting fading is introduced into the scatter communication. Then the communication system model based on the OFDM modulation is designed. The simulations which compare the bit error rate between the OFDM system and the system that is of no OFDM technology show that the OFDM modulation can overcome multi-path fading effectively and improve the troposcatter communication quality.
