  • Abstract
Rapid and precise position and azimuth determination of vehicle is very important in modern military application. A new algorithm based on vehicular optical-electronic detector is introduced. There are three known targets in test field and vehicle with optical-electronic detector is surrounded by them. When test begin, after only three turns of line-of-sight precise position and azimuth can be determined. In this new algorithm, optical-electronic measurement is used to correct position and azimuth output of inertial navigation system (INS). All this procedure is continuous and only 1~2 minutes is needed. Algorithm is introduced in detail. Simulation and van test result indicate that position and azimuth determination accuracy less than 0.5 m and 60rdquo, respectively. Some possible factors that may affect algorithm accuracy are proposed in conclusion.
