Abstract
This paper presents a channel re-mixing algorithm to intentionally emphasize surround sound in 5.1-channel layout. Noncenter-panned signals are extracted from front two channels and the signals are mixed with original rear channels. Listening tests show that the proposed method has a good performance in view of preference and surround effect.
