Abstract :
Summary form only given. We suggested a novel method to reduce the NF in designing a spectral filter gain-flattened Er-doped fibre amplifier (EDFA). Results show that despite having small gain loss, using a double-stage equalizing filter greatly improves the NF compared to a single-stage equalizing filter.
