Abstract :
Summary form only given. The diode laser and Ti:sapphire laser pumped cw broadly tunable (80 nm) and efficient (16% of slope efficiency) laser action was obtained in a new laser material at room temperature and compared with other common Tm,Ho-doped laser crystals. In the mode-locked regime, 25-ps pulses at 100-mW of average output power and 100-MHz repetition rate have been obtained. Preliminary results show a large potential of this Cr,Tm,Ho:YScGG/GdScAG laser for mode-locking.
