Abstract :
A novel ultrawideband (UWB) printed planar antenna with triple band-notched characteristics is proposed and discussed in this paper. The realization of the proposed antenna´s triple band-notched characteristics is owed to slots on the ground plane and the radiating patch. By employing a curve-shaped defected ground structure (DGS) on the ground plane, a notched band of (SATCOM) 8.0-8.4 GHz is achieved. By embedding two arc-shaped slots on the radiating patch, another two notched bands of (WIMAX) 3.3-3.6 GHz and (WLAN) 5.1-5.8 GHz are achieved. The proposed antenna has been successfully simulated, fabricated, and measured. Moreover, the designed antenna is compact size and lower cost, which is benefit for UWB communication system.
