Abstract :
The charge redistribution loss of capacitors is reviewed, and then employed in the optimal capacitor assignment of charge pumps. The average output voltage is unambiguously defined, and efficiency due to redistribution loss is discussed. Analyses are confirmed by Hspice simulations on charge pumps designed using a 0.35 μm CMOS process.
