Abstract :
T-DMB (terrestrial digital multimedia broadcasting) is based on the Eureka-147 standard, and provides various multimedia data services. However T-DMB needs additional services and higher throughput while maintaining good reception. Therefore, this paper proposes an advanced T-DMB system with the unequal error protection system, hierarchical multilevel modulation and various coding schemes recently used for recent wireless communication, while maintaining backward compatibility. Based on the simulation results, the proposed advanced T-DMB system achieves a coding gain of 2-6dB over the conventional T-DMB.
