Abstract :
Summary form only given. We present, for the first time, chirped pulse amplification (CPA) in a directly diode pumped Yb:glass laser. The injected pulses were obtained from a mode-locked Ti:sapphire laser (coherent) tuned to 1040 nm with a pulse width of 200 fs. The pulses were then stretched in a fibre.
