Abstract :
With the increase in intermittent generation in power systems, inclusion of uncertainty in power flow solution is indispensable. Calculation of the probability density function (PDF) of reactive power at Generators is necessary for evaluating their capability of maintaining bus voltage at the desired level. A method for obtaining reactive power at the generator bus as well as slack bus power in PLF for transmission system has been proposed. The method is tested for a 118-bus test system for all types of loads i.e. normal, discrete and mixed (normal and discrete) and finally the result is validated by comparison with Monte Carlo Simulation (MCS) method.
