Abstract
Due to the limited energy of wireless sensor networks (WSN) in all industrial applications, lots of research works have been done with routing algorithm in WSN. To solve the problem of the unbalanced energy consumption with the classical routing algorithms and improve the life circle, this paper proposes an Energy-Efficient Link Clustering (EELC) routing algorithm base on local competition by residual energy and link structure from low residual energy node to high residual energy node. This algorithm doesn´t need whole network information and any additional messages to transmit. The node with maximal weight is chosen as the cluster head and the link structure is built in the region with relatively lower energy. Theoretic analysis and simulation results prove that the proposed algorithm can effectively balance the energy consumption and topology control, as well as, significantly improve the lifetime of the networks.
