Abstract
Balise Transmission Module (BTM) has been successfully used in China dedicated passenger railways with the maximum speed of 250 Km/h. Nowadays there is urgent demand to use BTM in high-speed lines with operational speed higher than 380 Km/h. However, there is neither theoretical proof nor engineering experience for such high-speed application in the worldwide. This paper elaborates the influence factors for BTM with respect to speed adaptability based on BTM modeling and operational principle exploration. Assessment criteria and validation methodology are then derived by well classifying such influence factors. A Hardware-In-the-Loop-Simulation (HILS) platform is proposed to perform the adaptability validation. Test cases were formulated and verified finally.
