  • Abstract
    The nurturing of innovative talent is the basis of a national increase scientific and technological innovation. How to cultivate talents with innovative consciousness and innovative abilities is the major concern of Chinese higher education. Based on in-depth analysis of mathematical modeling training and contest in this paper, we came to the conclusion that mathematical modeling training and contest were in favor of the training of the spirit of innovation and creativity, students´ perseverance and volition, cultivating the comprehensive ability to solve practical problems, literature and text search capabilities and ability to express, to organize and coordinate and so on. It plays an important role in the nurturing of innovative talent.
