Abstract :
Summary form only given. Potassium lithium niobate (K/sub 3/Li/sub 2-x/Nb/sub 5+x/O/sub 15+2x/: KLN) has been expected as a hopeful material for SHG blue laser because of its excellent features such as a large nonlinear coefficients, high optical damage resistance, and wide noncritical phase-matching characteristics at room temperature. We have studied SHG properties of /spl mu/-pulling down (PD)-grown KLN single crystals both along and perpendicular to the growth axis.
