Abstract
JVC has put Data Compression Technology to excellent use in the world´s first CD motion-picture karaoke system, the Digital Vision karaoke. The advent of Digital Vision has accelerated the growth of the karaoke market, domestic and abroad. The high-efficiency coding technology for video and audio signals in conjunction with advanced LSI technology has enabled up to 74 minutes of full-motion video signals with digital audio to be recorded on compact discs of 12 cm diameter. Many organizations have contributed to establish this coding format called MPEG as international standard
