Abstract :
Summary form only given. We present a novel phase-conjugate mirror based on SBS in a tapered quartz fiber. This concept combines a low SBS threshold and a large dynamic power range. The optimum shape of the fiber was determined theoretically by incorporating the transverse geometry into the standard differential equations for SBS.
