Abstract :
Summary form only given. Optical imaging in scattering media has generated much interest in recent years because of its potential as a diagnostic tool in medicine. We have developed a femtosecond optical parametric amplifier (OPA) and applied it to detect unscattered or backscattered photons, which have travelled through a scattering medium made of nanospheres of latex in water. In conclusion we demonstrated the operation of a femtosecond OPA working at the degeneracy, used to see through a scattering medium in various configurations. We are currently investigating the possibility to make a 2D image through highly scattering medium by using our fs OPA.
