Abstract :
In this work, we study the possibilities of rigorous analysis of piecewise linear systems using the Poincare map technique and interval methods. We show that successful analysis can be carried out provided that the Poincare map is continuous in the region containing the attractor. In particular, complete classification of short periodic orbits embedded within the attractor is possible.
