Abstract :
Summary form only given. The wavelength stabilization of high-power pump semiconductor lasers for optical fiber amplifiers is becoming important in order to achieve the low-distortion amplification characteristics required, in particular, for CATV applications. Recently, results have been reported on the wavelength stabilization of 0.9-/spl mu/m laser diodes using fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs). However, the fiber output power is limited up to 100 mW in such configurations. Here, we report a 310-mW fiber-output, wavelength-stabilized 1.02-/spl mu/m strained InGaAs quantum well laser coupled into a fiber Bragg grating.
